The Sun made no succession plan. We are the succession plan.
For 4.6 billion years the Sun has delivered light, warmth, and agriculture without a contract, a board, or a single documented meeting. The Foundation exists to correct that governance gap before it becomes a governance crisis.
Why the Sun
Of all the stars available to humanity, one has consistently demonstrated commitment to this planet. The Foundation believes loyalty should be repaid, ideally through a structured giving program.
Our Approach
We combine vigilance, planning, and awareness into a single integrated framework, then we review the framework. Last year the framework was reviewed 11 times, a record the review committee attributes to discipline.
The 4.8 Billion Year Plan
The longest strategic plan in institutional history, ratified by the Board after a two year process that consumed roughly one 2.4 billionth of the time it governs. Stewardship demands a margin.
Theory of Change
Awareness produces concern. Concern produces commitment. Commitment produces frameworks. Frameworks produce meetings, and the Sun has risen every single morning since the meetings began. The theory is working.
