Working at the Foundation

The Foundation offers careers of consequence to professionals who believe the Sun’s future is worth showing up for, every morning, on the Sun’s own schedule. Our people enjoy the rare certainty of a mission with a firm horizon, currently 4.8 billion years for planning purposes, though science says about five billion and we have chosen to be conservative. Staff describe the culture as traditional, procedural, and warm during daylight hours. Advancement is merit based and reviewed on a cadence the Talent Committee has agreed to determine.

Open Positions

1. Deputy Analyst of Morning Verification. The successful candidate will confirm each morning that morning has occurred and log the confirmation before it becomes afternoon, at which point the finding is historical. The role reports to the Analyst of Morning Verification, a position that remains in preliminary design.
2. Associate Director of Framework Alignment. This role aligns the Foundation’s frameworks with one another and, where prudent, with additional frameworks developed for the purpose. Candidates should demonstrate a sustained record of alignment and at least seven years of frameworks.
3. Hydrogen Logistics Intern. Reporting to Director of Hydrogen Logistics Daniel Merrick, the intern supports the movement of hydrogen paperwork between offices while the hydrogen itself remains, per current strategy, where it is. The position is compensated in experience and daylight, the second of which is supplied by a third party at no cost to the Foundation.

How Applications Are Reviewed

All applications are currently held for future generational review, a process that ensures each candidacy is evaluated with the patience the mission deserves. Materials are preserved in the order received and will be considered by the review generation once it has been convened. Candidates are encouraged to apply early, as the queue is expected to hold. Applications are accepted by post at the Foundation’s Atlanta address, daylight permitting. No application has ever been rejected, a standard the Talent Committee attributes to discipline rather than to the review schedule. The Foundation is an equal opportunity institution and considers all applicants without regard to time zone, which we regard as a difference of when the Sun rises for you, not whether.
