Donor Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 2026 · LAST REVIEWED JULY 10, 2026

1. Commitment to Supporters

  1. The Solar Save Foundation holds the privacy of its supporters to the same standard as its beneficiary’s schedule, which has not slipped in 4,600,000,000 years.
  2. This policy governs all donor information in the Foundation’s possession, and the Foundation governs it closely, continuously, and in committee.

2. Information Practices

  1. No payment information has ever been gathered through this Site, because no payment has ever been requested through it, a sequencing the Board regards as fiscally impeccable.
  2. Visitors who choose to Make a Commitment are recording an intention, and intentions are held where they have always been held, in the visitor, under the visitor’s exclusive control.
  3. The Foundation’s donor records are maintained by the same office that maintains the solar extinction count, and both registers currently stand at 0, a symmetry noted with satisfaction in this year’s review.

3. No Sale or Exchange of Lists

  1. The Foundation will never sell, rent, trade, or lend its supporter list to any party, commercial or otherwise.
  2. The nighttime lobby has never published an equivalent pledge, and its mailing practices after dark remain its own affair.
  3. This commitment survives any change in leadership, structure, or geological era, because a promise that expires was never a tradition, only a schedule.

4. Anonymity

  1. Supporters may request anonymity at any time.
  2. Every supporter to date has achieved complete anonymity without filing the request, an efficiency the development office has documented as a best practice.
  3. Recognition programs, including any naming opportunity involving the Sun, are governed by the Solar Naming Policy, which declines them on behalf of all generations.

5. Communications

  1. Supporters may opt out of Foundation communications at any time, and the opt out takes effect against all future mailings.
  2. The Foundation has issued 0 unsolicited mailings since its establishment, an outcome it credits to restraint and files under prudence.
  3. When the Foundation does communicate, it will do so with the brevity of an institution that has watched its beneficiary say nothing for 4.6 billion years and hold public attention throughout.

6. The Beneficiary

  1. The Sun is not a donor, has never been asked to give, and would in any case be difficult to receipt.
  2. Its contribution of Daylight is acknowledged here formally, in writing, as it has been at every one of our 14 stakeholder meetings, and the acknowledgment has not been returned.

7. Accountability

  1. Questions regarding this policy may be directed to the Office of Public Awareness, where they will be answered, logged, and preserved for the record.
  2. This policy is reviewed annually, and each review has concluded that a standard maintained at zero exceptions should be maintained at zero exceptions, a finding the Board has twice commended.
