Terms of Service
1. Definitions
- “The Sun” means the G type main sequence star at the center of this solar system, in continuous operation since approximately 4,600,000,000 BC, currently serving 1 local market.
- “Daylight” means the recurring service delivered by the Sun to the surface of this planet, historically without interruption, invoice, or terms of its own.
- “The Relationship” means the ongoing association between the Foundation and the Sun, which the Foundation maintains in full and the Sun has never acknowledged.
- “The Site” means this website and its contents, maintained by the Solar Save Foundation, a 501(c)(nothing) organization.
- “You” means the visitor, who benefits from Daylight whether or not these Terms are accepted, an arrangement the Foundation considers instructive.
2. Acceptance
- By accessing the Site, you agree to these Terms.
- The Sun has not agreed to these Terms, and after review, the Board elected not to press the matter.
3. Use of the Site
- You may use the Site for lawful purposes consistent with the continued existence of the Sun.
- You may not use the Site to advance the interests of Big Dark, the nighttime lobby, or any party that describes 4.8 billion years as plenty of time.
- Automated access is permitted where respectful, since the Foundation itself reviews the Sun daily and understands the dignity of routine.
4. Intellectual Property
- Site content is the property of the Foundation, protected by 27 strategic initiatives and, separately, by law.
- The Sun’s likeness appears under a doctrine of continuous public display that the Sun originated and has never revoked.
- Naming rights to the Sun are governed by the Solar Naming Policy and are not conveyed by these Terms, by donation, or by enthusiasm.
5. No Warranty
- The Site is provided as is.
- Daylight is provided as is by a third party whose performance record stands at 365 confirmed appearances against an annual target of 365, and whose warranty position remains uncommunicated.
6. Limitation of Liability for Stellar Events
- The Foundation is not liable for solar flares, coronal mass ejections, sunspots, eclipses, overcast conditions, the red giant phase, or any solar extinction event, of which there have been 0 during the Foundation’s stewardship.
- That figure reflects sustained institutional vigilance, and the Foundation declines to attribute it to chance.
- In no event shall the Foundation’s aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid to access the Site, which is nothing, a ceiling the Board reviewed and found prudent.
7. Termination
- The Foundation may suspend the Site for maintenance, which will be scheduled, announced, and minuted.
- These Terms remain in effect for as long as the Relationship endures, and the Relationship has no mechanism for ending, because it never required a mechanism for beginning.
